| Welcome to our web site! The
Country Maiden is a primitive country store nestled in the heart of
Downtown Glendale, Arizona, housed in a 1920's bungalow. Maple flooring
and room setting displays add to the charm of our country store. Our
displays are constantly changing to give our customers Inspiration for
their own homes! We hope that you can visit us someday soon. In the
meantime, enjoy browsing through our "virtual store" and if you
have any questions, please call or e-mail
us and we will be happy to assist you. We love to hear from our country
friends, so do not hesitate to contact
us

Americana décor is not just reserved for
the Fourth of July around here! The Country Maiden carries a full line of
Americana year round! We proudly display our great collection of 48 star
flags and also present 50 star flags and flag banners to decorate
with in your home. Uncle Sam and Miss Liberty, along with old-fashioned
sailboats, biplanes, and vintage clothes ensure that we will always have
just the thing to add to your Americana collection

The Country Maiden carries a variety
of primitive and handmade candles to compliment your country décor.
We have wonderful "grubby" votives and jar candles with
long-lasting fragrances like "Sugar Cookie", "Black
Cherry" and "Banana Nut Bread". Let us know your
favorite and we’ll ship it to your front door! |

Of all things country, dolls are the
dearest to our heart here at Country Maiden. Two artists are shown
here, including Greta Chirco from Sew-Be-It (left) and Jacylyn Baird
from Huckleberry Tree (right). Other artists are available including
our favorite Raggedy doll artist, Tattered Rabbit.

All
of our handcrafted folk art is made in America by artists from coast to
coast, many of whom are exclusive to The Country Maiden. From Barnyard
Cats (shown on our Furniture
page), to Back-in Time sailboats (shown on Americana
page) each piece is signed and dated by the artist. In this photo you’ll
find one of our wonderful homespun tea towels, a handcarved rabbit, and
primitive beeswax candles all on a wonderful shaker pegboard.

Birdhouses, bunnies and old clay
pots - this is what gardening is all about. Here at the Country
Maiden you will find all these and more. Twiggy wreaths, garden
stakes, fountains and bee skeps will all add charm to your garden,
or bring the garden indoor to you! We also carry a beautiful line of
garden cloches and miniature greenhouses! Call us for more
information! |
 |
Along with a variety of antique
quilts, The Country Maiden carries
a wonderful selection of reproduction quilts in all those yummy
colors we love – hunter green, barn red, mustard and navy.
Quilts add such a warm cozy feeling to our home. We just love
them! Great old patterns like "Log Cabin" and "Wild
Goose Chase" are featured in these quilts. We also do custom
orders for size and pattern.
Call us with your wish list! |

The Workshops of David T.
Smith, in Ohio, create some of the
most authentic reproduction redware available today. The Country
Maiden carries David’s redware along with that of Wisconsin
Pottery
and Ned Foltz. Most plates and chargers feature the simple slip
design that redware is so famous for.

add to your collection?

So much of our furniture is
one-of-a kind, but this is one of our favorite pieces shown. A
primitive pie safe that hangs on the wall!
We offer a variety of
primitive furniture items, mostly all in rustic painted
finishes. We also carry twig furniture and a full line of
chandeliers by Lt. Moses Willard. Custom orders are available.
