We are sick Women!!

We love the classic look and everything that applies to it...the music, the dances, the hair styles....and the glamour of it all! We also have some styles from the 60’s and 70’s. We also have our own line of jewelry that we will showcase from time to time. Sandy’s beaded nudes are a must see. They are “one of a kind art “ that the pictures don’t do justice. 

We are Rose and Sandy, sisters-in-law and partners in crime. In 1977 we discovered the wonderful world of vintage clothing. We were drawn to the classic look from the 30’s and 40’s. Our love and specialty is women’s after five, cocktail, and formal apparel. The constant search for our treasure is our weakness, we are vintage clothing junkies!! (and we infect all who come in contact with us) Most any occasion you will find us dressed in our finery. We named our business after a dress form (Matilda) that ended up in our storage room with our inventory. Now all of our manniquins are named Matilda.

We are easy driving distance from  Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Sun City, Surprise, Buckeye, Chandler, Gilbert, Florence, and a few hours away from Tucson, Prescott Sedona, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon Jerome and other Arizona cities!

Celebration at Matilda’s Closet

Glendale Az- Matilda's Closet - Five years!!  Imagine that.  We’ve been here for that long?  Wow, how time flies…we’ve been kept busy through 3 moves and we still don’t have enough room.   We opened September 15, 2001, yes, right after 911.  We are Matilda’s Closet at 7013 N. 58^th Ave in beautiful downtown Glendale.  We love being in the heart of this cute area.

We have been mentioned many times over the last 5 yrs in magazines like Phoenix Magazine (5 times!!), YES, The Rep, Lucky Magazine and in the Arizona Republic newspaper and on Channel 3 TV. We are the only Vintage clothing store (30’s-70’s) in the valley. We carry all the accessories also. We are known for our huge hat collection.

We had a wonderful turnout at the shop on Friday night 9-15-06. Most of the merchants in the are, many friends and family. We hope to be here at least another 5 yrs. Thanks everyone for the wonderful wishes at the anniversary bash.
