The museum is a non-profit educational institution founded to preserve and exhibit the art and history of the rural Southwest and desert frontier. Begun as the Maricopa County Historical Society in 1960, the Museum and its programs have enjoyed continuous growth since the first museum building opened in 1969. The current facility was constructed in 1975 and enlarged in 1986 to encompass 20,000 sq. ft. of gallery, classroom and workspace.

Hours: Monday - Saturday - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
            Sunday - 12 Noon - 4 p.m.                

Admission: Adult - $5   

Groups of 20 or more - $3.50 per person
